NEW ARTWORK - Wells Cathedral

I am delighted to announce that my latest artwork, "Wells Cathedral, Somerset" is now completed and available for purchase from the online gallery.

Based on a photostudy I made during early April last year, I was surprised at the complexity of the scene when creating the piece, spending many, many hours perfecting the final result and eventually drawing 15,825 triangles!

Described as "unquestionably one of the most beautiful" and "the most poetic" of England's cathedrals, Wells Cathedral is set in the mediaeval heart of the smallest city in England.

Considered to be the earliest English Cathedral to be conceived in the Gothic Style, it was built between 1175 - 1450AD and replaced an earlier church on the same site that dated from c705AD.

This view from the South, partly reflected in the moat of the Bishop's Palace, captures the late afternoon sun warming the golden stone and enhancing the architecture with soft shadows.
